Boys' Choir

"I really enjoy singing in Emmanuel Choir, working with Mr Mason and performing in World Class locations! It is great to gain such a depth of musical understanding and sing with other people my age."
Logan Pritchard - Treble
Being a boy chorister at Emmanuel, Wylde Green is an extraordinary experience.
Emmanuel trebles have the opportunity to sing weekly services, receive a first-rate musical education, perform concerts internationally and, most importantly, have fun making music with other young people.
Choristers sing Evensong with the men of the choir every Sunday evening during term time, and also sing for Morning Eucharist on the first and third Sunday of the month. Further afield, trebles have the opportunity to sing in some of the most famous buildings in the world. In recent years, the choir have sung in Notre Dame Cathedral, Cathedrals of Berlin, Cologne, New York, and, closer to home, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral and York Minster. Many boys remain with the choir to sing lower parts before taking up College or University courses. While some retain singing as a life-long hobby other former choristers have taken up music at University and Music College. A number of ex choristers are now singing and performing professionally and yet still return to their old roots from time to time!
Emmanuel Boys' Choir costs nothing to join, and boys are paid termly for their singing. In addition, choristers are paid extra for singing at special services and weddings. All tours are subsidised and additional financial support is available in cases of individual need.
We develop confidence, self-discipline, teamwork, initiative, and an expectation of high standards. No previous experience is required!
