This Summer, following A level results of August 2022, sees another Chorister leave the Choir to study music at Cambridge and with a choral scholarship to St. John's College. One former chorister completed their first degree at Birmingham Conservatoire with first class honours this summer, others remain currently in full time further education.
The Choir offers youngsters that cathedral-style experience and repertoire but without a full-time commitment. The requirement to perform different music regularly is unique to this sort of choir and develops an all-round accomplished young musician
We sing regular choral services on Sundays at 10.00 am and 6.30 pm during term-time at Emmanuel Church, Wylde Green. The two choirs share the responsibility for providing music at these services. We are also available for Weddings at Emmanuel Church or other venues. We sing a wide repertoire ranging from short pieces to major choral works with full orchestra. No other young persons' choir can offer such a rich variety of music learning and performance.
The 2019 tour in France was highly acclaimed with over sixty musicians (Choir and Orchestra) singing Vaughan Williams, Poulenc and Handel. Unfortunately plans to return to France, and including the regular visit to Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, is 2021 have been postponed.
